How to Make Brushing Fun for Kids
Use short routines, choices, and encouragement to help children build a dependable brushing habit.
Make routine predictable
Brush at the same two daily anchor points, such as after breakfast and before bed. A two-minute timer, song, or simple four-zone game can make the time feel concrete.
Offer small choices: which toothbrush to use, which song to play, or which zone to start with. Praise effort and consistency instead of focusing on perfection.
Young children often need an adult to brush or finish the job. Ask your child’s dentist when independent brushing is appropriate, and use a smear or pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste as advised for your child’s age.
