Why Flossing Matters
Clean between teeth daily with floss or another interdental cleaner that fits your mouth comfortably.
Clean where bristles do not reach
Toothbrush bristles do not clean every space between teeth. Floss or another interdental cleaner helps remove plaque and food from those areas.
Use a gentle rubbing motion to guide floss between teeth, then curve it around each tooth and move it below the gumline without snapping. If spaces are larger, an interdental brush may be easier. A dental professional can help you choose.
Bleeding can happen when gums are inflamed, but persistent bleeding or pain should be discussed with a dentist.
